The biggest misconception about saving money is that you have to make major sacrifices to do it.
When it comes down to it, just having a few tricks in your back pocket can help you save hundreds of dollars every month without breaking a sweat. Here are a few of the easiest things I do…
1. The Amazon Trick – save up to 25% on everything!
It may not seem like it at first glance, but if you know the right way to go about it, there is a gold mine of savings hiding on Amazon.
Now, I am not talking about low prices. Amazon has great prices, but you can find low prices at your local big box store, or other places online. This goes way beyond that.
You can find nearly any product on Amazon, including things that you buy on a regular basis, like toothpaste, shampoo, vitamins and toilet paper. The Trick: Amazon already has low prices on most of these items, but there is a way to save up to 25% more! Here’s how it works:
First, if you use Amazon’s “Subscribe and Save” feature, it allows you to save 15% on everything you buy, if you schedule these products to be delivered at regular intervals. The intervals can be many months apart – there’s no need to have anything delivered every month. My children love Larabars, and they come in boxes of five. Each box of five bars counts as it’s own product. There are hundreds of products just like this, and you probably already buy several of them every month!
So subscribe and save, to save a lot of money. Plus, you’ll never have to worry about making an emergency trip of the grocery store because you ran out of something important.
2. Save Even More Using Amazon
So I mentioned above that you can save as much as 25% with Amazon. Subscribe and Save will get you 15% off, but there are a few more tricks to save even more.
Using Amazon Prime gets you free 2-day shipping on nearly everything you can buy on Amazon, and on many items, you can even get 1-day shipping. The savings from shipping adds up fast, and allows you to save at least an extra 7% on anything you buy.
Finally, you can save an extra 3% on everything you buy on Amazon by getting the Amazon Credit Card. Every Amazon purchase earns you a 3% credit towards any future Amazon purchase.
I hope you can see how powerful this can be. Since Amazon sells almost everything, including groceries, my family is easily able to save over $2000 per year, simply by using these tricks.
3. Earn Extra Money By Using Coupons
This may sound a little weird, but check this out: signing up for InboxDollars will get you access to dozens of coupons for products you probably use every day. Not only do you get the savings from using the coupons, but you will also earn additional money for every coupons you redeem.
This is all on top of the $5 bonus you get by joining InboxDollars, if you use this special link. Between the coupons, and the cash, the savings can really add up!
4. Answer Questions, and Earn $300
Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could share your opinion with people, and earn some money. While you won’t make six figures telling people what you think, you can definitely earn some nice extra cash each month by sharing your opinion.
Companies like This One and This One pay a few dollars each for consumers like you to take 5-20 minute surveys. Bonus – If you own a business, no matter how small, make sure you note this on your profile. You will have so many survey opportunities, and they really add up! Participating in just 1-2 surveys per week can easily results in hundreds of dollars in additional revenue per year.
5. Getting a 5-25% Discount On Every Purchase
This is huge! Imagine getting a massive discount on every purchase you make. It takes a little bit of elbow grease, but it is certainly possible. Here are two easy ways to make it happen:
– Making an upcoming purchase? You can use CardCash to save up to 30%. CardCash is a marketplace where you can buy a gift card for way less than face value. If you know where you plan to make a purchase, it’s an easy way to save a significant amount.
– MyPoints is a cash-back site that allows you to earn rebates and gift cards, including a $10 Amazon gift card, simply for spending $10 or more at a variety of online retailers, including major big-box stores, and Amazon itself. It’s a great way to earn money for spending you were planning to do anyway.
Add this all up, and you could easily be saving several hundred dollars a month or more. Save it for a vacation, or some really nice dinners out. Maybe even for the payment on your next vehicle. Enjoy!
